ENGL 202 is the second course in Western Carolina University’s two-semester writing and rhetoric sequence. In this sophomore-level course students will advance their argumentative and research skills, but with a particular emphasis on writing within their own discipline. In addition to formal essays, students compose in a variety of genres and spaces, to include multimedia compositions. In addition to traditional modes of argument, students will also confront the rhetorical issues raised by emerging technologies. This semester we will also pay particular attention to the role of ethics in rhetoric.
