Required Texts

  • Ways of Reading, 8th Edition, edited by David Bartholomae and Anthony Petrosky. (Available from the WCU bookstore, as well as from outlets for used textbooks such as amazon.com.  If you purchase a used copy, be sure that you purchase the 8th Edition and that you have the book in time to complete all readings. Current cost is approximately $52, new–students are strongly encouraged to buy used copies from the WCU bookstore, participate in the WCU textbook rental program, or purchase a used copy from another outlet in order to save money.)
  • Handbook for Writers, Diana Hacker
  • No Impact Man, by Colin Beavan. (Available from the WCU bookstore, as well as from outlets for used textbooks such as amazon.com.  If you purchase a used copy, be sure that you have the book in time to complete all readings. Students are always welcome to buy used copies in order to save money.  The book is $10.20, new, from amazon.com.)
